Chincoteague Island

We just got back from a few days at Chincoteague Island in Virginia. We enjoyed our two days exploring Assateague Island with our good friends Bert and Cindy. We saw a bald eagle, several of the wild ponies, lots of birds, dolphins, a black racer snake, squirrels, a huge turtle, muskrat, and lots of other things of interest. We also climbed to the top of Assateague Lighthouse -- all 192 steps. We took a boat ride up the bay. In the evenings we enjoyed seafood. Lot's of it.
On our last evening we bought fresh seafood and prepared it ourselves. We had oysters, scallops, jumbo shrimp, monk, and clams in the shell. We also were able to see the Memorial Day parade on Main Street Chicoteague. We had a most wonderful time. Even got a little sun.
